With a little help from Photoshop

Tree silhouette BW

It was a flat, grey day but I liked the branches of this tree so into Photoshop it went. Here’s how it emerged.

Not content to leave well enough alone, I played with the colors, too. It’s not to my liking but it helped me get through a brief tantrum: “NOOOO!!!! I don’t want grey days again!” That’s the sort of thing that helps when there’s no chocolate in the house.

Dungeness Cemetery

Dungeness Cemetery is the resting place of some of Sequim’s pioneer families. It’s small but beautifully located.

Remembering Birdman, one of our blogging community’s distinctive voices. He passed away suddenly last weekend. His posts, often enlivened with a fine wit, were always crafted with succinct commentary on life and living and his photos spoke equally well of his vision. I never met him but I feel as if I’ve lost a special friend. RIP, Birdman.

Zebra

We stopped near the Olympic Game Farm the other day, overlooking an area that isn’t usually populated with the wide variety of animals that call this place home. First we saw a group of horned, long-haired cattle-ish critters (that aren’t named on their website). Then along came llamas, purposefully heading to a grassy corner of the enclosure. Finally, along came two zebras. Not your typical backyard animals.
