I love autumn. I just wish shorter days weren’t part of the package.
Thought for a Monday
A sign on the wall at Jose’s Famous Salsa on Washington Street.
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church has crisp, clean lines that have long tantalized me. The other day I had a clear shot of its steeple in the late afternoon.
I was in the neighborhood behind it one morning last week and caught this shot. I love the roof lines.
Sure sign of autumn
The geese are forming up in flocks. At first the groups are small and seem to fly in random patterns. Now the flocks are getting larger and larger, heading more purposefully across the horizon around sunset, sounding like a group of old friends excitedly squawking, catching up on news. Some stick around but most of them seem intent on heading south.
Eagles are back
Nice view!
I go to The Lodge at Sherwood Village from time to time and have always enjoyed the water features and landscaping that welcomes visitors. I recently walked behind one of the rock waterfalls to find this swing set up to enjoy the view. On a clear day the Olympic Mountains would be framed in the distance.
This stream flows from the waterfall under the walkway.
Painterly clouds
These clouds the other day reminded me of Maxfield Parrish prints.
