The spot where this is taken is one of the best places to view the Dungeness Valley. I’ve shown this view before and chances are good that I’ll show it again. It’s hard to tire of this vista.

Nostalgia for April
This is a view taken last April. Our skies don’t look like this right now. They’re pallid and hazy. There are a lot of wildfires in the West and even if we don’t share the flames here we do share the smoke…and sympathy for the losses and disruption.
Sweet
Sometimes a house and its setting just seems to work. I think this one qualifies. Agree?
Mountain peekaboo
It was a grey day but it looked like the mountains wanted to have a glimpse of us mortals down in the lowlands.
Sunny Farms
I’ve learned not to wait when it’s time for a garden. Last year I didn’t get to it until late May and Sunny Farms Nursery had almost nothing left.
I started early this year. But as I’ve completed each phase of planting I’ve gone back for more. And each time there’s much less choice than before. Yesterday I was glad I only wanted flowers because the many options I had a couple of weeks ago are gone. Our warmer weather has been a real inspiration for anyone who wants dirt under their nails. There are many of us.
You’re getting today’s shot because I loved looking up from the flowers to see the Olympic Mountains in the distance.
Western Serviceberry
Serviceberries are in bloom now and they’re gorgeous. They’re a native tree, also known as Saskatoon. In the summer these blossoms become small, dark edible berries.
Bushes all over the Dungeness Recreation area are covered with blossoms. Pretty wonderful.
Life is good
About a month ago we got some very comfortable Adirondack chairs for our deck. Within moments of DH assembling them it started raining. And kept raining. After what seems like an endless winter we’ve finally had a few days when we can go outside to enjoy the deck and our new chairs.
I know I’ve mentioned that I love our view. My long lens has cropped it down, but this is what we see from our deck.
A nice day. A glass of wine or ale. Adirondack chairs. This is what I call a Life is Good moment.
