Views of Sequim, the Olympic Peninsula. . .and beyond
These wild thistles were growing by the parking lot on my way to an appointment. They can draw blood but I find them visually interesting.
These domestic thistles were planted nearby in the landscaping. They have a teddy bear look to them but they’re prickly too.

We had some beautiful days for a while there. Sun dresses were in order. Then all of a sudden it started to rain. Can’t we ease into it more gradually?
Rose hips are ripening. Many are already completely red, ready and waiting to feed birds over winter. Their foliage is turning color and dropping. This may all be well and good if you’re a wild rose. If you’re a human enjoying summer it’s another thing completely.
Kids are headed back to school. Lucky ones made a lot of good summer memories to take with them.
Welcome to the Sequim Library. I thought I’d start out with a view inside. Yes, there are plenty of books. But I really like the ceiling and light fixtures.
Our library is a welcoming place.
It’s also a busy community resource. I counted no fewer that eight people — including a family group of three generations — as I quickly shot these pictures.

What can I say? I love roses.
This is an eye catching burger joint in Port Ludlow about 45 minutes’ drive from Sequim. We pass it on our way to and from camping at Fort Flagler. So far we’ve resisted the temptation but Yelp reviews make it sound pretty tempting.
