Politicized

Like many other things in the U.S. these days, wearing a mask for some has somehow become political expression. It’s ironic. We are required to wear seatbelts in our cars, helmets on motorcycles. Yet some object to a simple item that helps prevent the spread of a deadly virus.

Heaven help us. Science has become not a search for truth but a matter of opinion.

  1. Public Health. A political statement. Politics have become Life threatening.
    When did that happen before?

  2. That’s ridiculous!
Why are there some who consider themselves above the law? And in the Netherlands we have some “smart” people who believe that the virus does not exist!

  3. I like your thoughts about about the face masks.
No matter how smart you are you cannot convince a stupid person that they are stupid.

  4. I’ve been wearing one inside stores since the whole thing began. It is required here now and I think almost everyone is obeying except for a few fools.

  5. Some young people are still not following the mask wearing but you see just about every older person wearing them. We have to wear them on the bus and in stores. You wonder what they don’t understand about a “deadly” virus.

  6. It’s frustrating isn’t it? Growing up, my dad always said to use girls, “use your head, think about it, does that make sense”. It was a great lesson that appears to be lost these days.

  7. Hello

I will happily wear a mask, at least until everyone can feel safe! Rules like wearing a seat belt became law, people need to accept it and just be kind. Enjoy your weekend!

  8. In Australia we are not asked to wear masks as the spread of the virus is very low throughout most of the country. The state of Victoria has seen a rise and there has been a recent request asking people there to wear masks on public transport or where it’s hard to socially distance.

Unfortunately these days it is hard to know what is objective science vs opinion vs fake news.
