Views of Sequim, the Olympic Peninsula. . .and beyond
We had enough rain last Sunday to cause minor flooding in our yard. There is a small seasonal pond that catches runoff from our roofs and it overflowed. That caught the attention of Canada geese and mallard ducks that have visited all week. I know the geese can be an annoyance but if they don’t overstay their welcome they can be very pretty.
The Canada geese seem to be doing warm-ups for their fall migration. They rest and eat in open fields. In the mornings and evenings they’re gathering up and flying across the skies in increasingly large wedges, doing their raucous goose party honking.
We haven’t had a lot of summer this year. It’s hard to see it drawing to a close.
