Cooped up
I’ve admired this cute little outbuilding for a while. It wasn’t until I stopped to take this shot that I discovered its apparent purpose: I think it’s a chicken coop. You may be able to see a three chickens back behind it on the right. Pretty classy digs, no?
Annie again
I posted a picture of Annie’s eyelashes last week. It generated enough curiosity about Annie that I thought I’d give you a fuller view of this little sweetheart. She’s about three years old and weighs roughly 20 pounds. She’s very sweet.
Obliging seagull
I wanted to practice with the zoom lens on my new camera, expecting this seagull to take off. He probably expected a handout and stayed put. I got to practice. He was disappointed.
High visibility
Sometimes people create irresistible spectacles. This bicyclist in Portland wheeled past so quickly I barely caught him. Really? Two bicycles welded together? Pink?? It’s one way to be sure you’re seen…and to see what’s coming at you.
The Camperdown elm…again
We were minutes away from the Camperdown elm tree in Port Gamble last week as we drove home from Portland. Ever hopeful to see it wreathed in glorious fall colors we raced against sunset to take a look. As you can see, luck wasn’t going our way. It’s an amazing tree but I’m beginning to think that winter is its finest hour. Click here for links to previous shots.
