This lil Pine Siskin was resting on my rock…he looked a little dazed and didn’t move as I ran back into the house to get my camera. (Don’t worry he flew off a few minutes later!)

Colleen,
your “sparrow” is actually a type of finch, a Pine Siskin. They love thistle seeds and suet, and are year-round residents here. Identifiable by the thin pointed beak, overall brownish stripey look and the small yellow patches in the wings. Also usually some yellow in the tail, two white wing bars. They’ll forage in the trees and on the ground for small seeds and insects.
Thanks so much for your wisdom…I’ll fix it when I get home!
I wasn’t suggesting that you “fix” anything. Just wanted to give you the ID on the bird.
Oh no, I just hate misinforming people.. That’s how I get all confused! So I fix posts as I can.. appreciate the feedback!
He looks stoic.
