Show stopper

Here’s another springtime bloom we’re missing these days in our forested areas, a trillium ovatum. It is found on the shaded forest floor.

This is the first I’ve seen, a standout blooming alongside a trail. It’s very showy.

  2. There are several trilliums in Old Fort Townsend State Park next to us. Always a welcome sign of spring.
