Open at last

Old Olympic Highway closed last July for rebuilding of the narrow old bridge over McDonald Creek. After some weather delays the new span is open. The work was completed on budget and it looks nice. It’s wider and the road has lost its former deep dip. It sure is great to have this convenient route back.

  1. Delight can take the form of a reconfigured and reconstructed road! I’m surprised at how fast they accomplished the task. I know of roads in Houston, for example, that they have been working on for 40-50 years and still are unfinished!

Grab an old Harley and go for a ride! 🙂

  2. Just short of a year Kay! Must be so good to have it finished and not just new but much better than if was before! Happy travels 😀

  3. I understand your relief in having an often-used road back in service. In SW Florida, a road near me has been closed for more than 18 months while a bridge is rebuilt. That throws all of the traffic onto a busy state highway. I always used to avoid that highway on the parts that were busiest, but for the past two years it has not been possible. I think it will be in service again by next fall.
