The deck

After seven years we’ve finally decided to get a proper deck behind our house. Considering our winds and the very short season that might be called “summer,” it hasn’t been a hardship. Still, what we had just didn’t cut it.

DH worked with a contractor to make it happen. It’s mostly done. These stairs-to-be await their moment.

  1. Decks are good. Down here they require a lot of work ’cause the sun takes its toll on them.

Re your comment on Ocala: There’s a famous book about golf, called “A Good Walk Spoiled.” 🙂

  2. We had a nice large deck built four or five years ago – our son-in-law was in charge – the whole family pitched in. I was the architect and drew up the plans for what I wanted. We have enjoyed it so much – even though our summer season is short – it is wonderful when we can enjoy it. Can’t wait to see yours all finished. Wasn’t today wonderful? Sunshine sunshine sunshine – long may it continue.

  3. Even if the time spent enjoying the deck is seasonally short, every second you spend on it during pleasant weather is worth the time and trouble of building it!
