  1. I’d like to see a close-up of this barn, too. It looks like it probably is, or could be, a pretty big operation. I am so very sorry that this man (family) has to supplement income with other jobs. Sad to see how large corporations have affected the agricultural community. No turning back, I guess, unless our society demands changes and with the government we currently have, reversing the trend doesn’t have a prayer. I remember fondly the summer visits I had as a child to relatives who were engaged in successful farming.

  2. Noble profession! Being an alumna of a land grant university which attracts students worldwide for its agriculture program, and having lived in farming states, I have a healthy respect for growers. Good to see local farming operations like this one.

  3. It looks like a beautiful and profitable farm, but I understand the individual farmer is up against agricultural behemoths and can’t do much about it. Yet, farming was always a dicey operation. My grandmother sold milk from her cows to exist and her children helped out with her farm’s expenses.

Re your comment on Ocala: You might be right. I thought from the beginning that the car was too “perfect” and I could never be sure what it was although it appears similar to late 30’s Fords.

  4. Farming must be a very hard way to earn a living. Sad that it is necessary to have another job to make ends meet.
