It is rainy and dreary out today, yet when driving to town we saw several fields getting watered and it got me curious as to why they’d water on a day it’s raining? I’ve seen it happen on other rainy days too. Is it just on a timer? Is there something they are all spraying besides water?

I doubt that the units are applying anything besides water. It may be automatic. With irrigation water rights it may also be a case of “use it or lose it.” I’ve given up on being amazed at lawns and landscaping I’ve seen watered come rain or shine.
