One of these days when I see an eagle in a tree I hope I’ll have time and patience to park myself nearby and wait until I can catch it in flight. Lately the only ones I’ve seen on the wing have gotten away by the time I’ve whipped out and pointed my camera. In the meantime, I’m still always delighted to see these formidable birds.
Just one more
Please stand by
Those of a certain age may remember this phrase. When broadcast television had a case of technical indigestion the words “Please Stand By” would appear on the screen, often with a field of black and white fuzz as background.
No technical difficulties here. I goofed around with Photoshop and decided to share the results. There’ll be one more tomorrow and then we’ll return to regular broadcasting.
Eirinn go Brach!
Eirinn go Brach is Celtic for “Ireland forever.”
Tipperary is a village western Ireland made famous by a World War I song, “It’s a Long Way to Tipperary.” I traveled a long way in 1997 and was tickled to see this sign.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all who are Irish…and to St. Patrick’s Day Irish wannabes. And here’s a classic Irish blessing:
“May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.”
