Hello, old friend
This beauty is planted by an office I went to recently. I think it’s a Rose of Sharon. We had this shrub at our very first home. In addition to the pleasure of seeing such pretty flowers it was sweet to see a familiar friend again.
Open sky, open view
One of the things I love about living in the country is that views are generally unimpeded by corridors of buildings. I like what cities offer but it’s easier to breathe with this kind of space.
The tree in summer
At the first of this year I promised a series of this willow tree that I see often at one of the trailheads at Dungeness Recreation Area. Here it is in its full summer foliage. Click here to see it last January, and here to see its springtime look.
An aside: Today is the fourth anniversary of my blogging premiere on Sequim Daily Photo. That was 1,422 posts ago but who’s counting? Time to buy a cupcake and celebrate.
Blyn again
Yesterday I showed you some of the Jamestown S’Klallam buildings on the north side of Highway 101. Here’s a building on the other side, the South Campus. Click here if you’re interested in learning more about the tribe. In addition to the Seven Cedars Casino nearby, they have a number of local businesses including a medical clinic (open to the general community), deli and gas station, and construction and excavating companies.
This totem pole is located near the Community Center. I didn’t see that there was an information plaque on it until I downloaded this photo so I can’t tell you anything about it.
