Views of Sequim, the Olympic Peninsula. . .and beyond
I’ve lived here six years and have yet to be indifferent to the sight of an eagle. They’ve been more visible lately. And this one also had something to say. It was doing a lot of calling.
As the eagle in the shot above took off from its perch this one landed in a nearby tree.
I’m again visiting the big willow tree at the east entrance to the Dungeness Recreation Area. I last showed it to you in autumn here. One of my favorite trees – I walk past it almost daily – it was pruned about a month ago on its right side. Equestrians are less likely now to collide with its lower limbs.
Its leaves are just beginning to unfurl. This is a closer view with a camera-impatient robin taking wing.
Here is a blossom, another part of the life cycle of the dandelion which I featured in yesterday’s post. Our neighborhood is virtually paved with these blossoms this time of year. You can see in this shot that there are two more blossoms opening and another bud nearby. They’re no sooner mowed than up they pop again, brightening the landscape in yellow blossoms. Frankly, I think they duck under mower blades and pop up laughing, “Gotcha, sucker!”
Today’s challenge is to focus on one subject and make it simple. My offering is a dandelion, up close and personal.

Spring these days is by turns glorious and fierce. I’ve twice lately come home drenched from a walk that started out dry. March is doing it’s best to hang on to it’s “lion” reputation. Isn’t it time for more “lamb” weather?
