Going to The Fair

Finally I made it to the fair! I had guests for the weekend, and as much as I enjoy their company…I was ready for them to leave so I could hot foot it over and check it out. I didn’t go in the carnival…but it did provide me with a photo opp. I saw (click on thumbnails) tractors, things for sale, and lots of ribbons. Tomorrow I will share some of the animals.

Follow the Leader!

Wylie seems intent on keeping up with J-dog. They are such nice neighbors.

A very nice thing happened yesterday. The Peninsula Daily News interviewed Jelvistar of Port Angeles Daily Photo and myself. There was a nice article on page C-1, Wednesday, July 18th. They featured several of our photos. Unfortunately, the PDN is such a small newspaper there is no online link to the article. I, of course, will be buying several copies to send to my family. I guess one never gets to old for a little family approval.

The quilt show set up begins tomorrow…stop back by for some photos of what it takes to make this event happen.

View from a hospital window

We are truly lucky to have wonderful views in our local hospital. If you are in a North facing room, you look at the Strait of Juan De Fuca. If you have a South facing room, you look at the mountains. Below you will find a snapshot of me, all suited up. Baby is better, but he does have the flu virus along with viral pneumonia. Hence the get up below. Mom is improving. Maybe Friday we go home if things continue to progress in the right direction. Thank you for all of your compassionate and thoughtful comments today. I so appreciate this wonderful community of DP Bloggers.me.jpg

Art In the City – Repost

Port Angeles, 10 miles to the West, is fortunate to have “art pieces” displayed in the downtown area. It’s a wonderful treat to walk downtown, stop, and admire. I like this momma and baby whale. Although it is rare to see Orcas in our immediate area, gray whales are not uncommon….and I looked all over for a plaque naming the author. Found one…couldn’t read it. Hum, foiled again.
