The day I visted, this iron pot full of sweet corn, was a popular spot. Not only was the corn excellent, the fire provided a nice warm spot. it was a bit nippy that day.

No corn maze would be complete without “rules”. For the last 3-4 years, Pumplinland has had a Wizard of Oz theme for their maze. This year was no exception. My suggestion for local families with children…go during the day. Flashlights and an evening stroll might seem inviting…but it is a better experience for the young ones during the day.

The cornstalks propped against the fence, made a nice focal point for this picture at Pumpkinland.

Some of the attractions at Pumpkinland include farm animals. I was struck by the pile of piglets taking a nap.

I wasn’t sure if dad was measuring the pumpkin against the child’s head…or just balancing it. It was a good feeling watching this family walking through the fields picking out pumpkins.

On the corner of Kitchen-Disk and highway 101 is a popular venue for this time of year. It’s the perfect place to select your pumpkin from the fields. Connected with the famous local deli/farmer’s market, Sunny Farms, the operation is open for family fun during the month of October. I will be posting several pictures from Pumpkinland this week. I hope you will visit often.
