Most of us have seen the stickers in the back windows of cars. You know, the stick father, mother, kids and animals that all line up and make a cute family. Well, this isn’t one of them.

Derelict
There’s something about derelict houses that always arouses curiosity. What happened? Why is it empty? Who lived here? If walls could talk.
Though rundown this is a large, nice piece of property. I can imagine an active life lived here.
Theme Day: Where I belong
This photo tells you a little about the place where I belong, Sequim (pronounced “Skwim”). It’s a small town on the Olympic Peninsula, Washington State U.S.A. Rather than recite details of what this place is, I’ll tell you this: I lived most of my life in one of the most arguably beautiful places in the world, the San Francisco Bay Area.
I’ve lived here, in Sequim, for six years. I wake up each day eager to see the view out my windows. Yesterday I saw four bald eagles in flight. People wave as you drive by. Those mountains, above, anchor me and give me a sense of place. Is this where I belong? You can bet on it.

Snowpack
It’s good to see snow building in the Olympics this year. In many places it’s over 100% of the usual amount for this time of year. Last year it was well under normal and the peaks you see here had many bare spots and much smaller snowcaps.
Construction zone
We’ve been doing some remodeling in our shop lately. DH has done more than his share of heavy lifting and is our general contractor. Our eyes dance as we plan projects like this. We do know what we’re getting into. But it doesn’t truly sink in until a day or two into it, many Excedrins later. We’re getting too old for this.
Seattle reflections
I recently revisited shots I took at the Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle. I like this one. It’s as close as I generally get to a selfie. That’s Seattle’s iconic Space Needle photobombing my shot.
Black and white or color…that is the question
I thought I would prefer this shot in black and white. And I do like the textures.
But when I went back and looked at the original again I preferred the color version. Each one highlights something different. I’ll let you decide for yourself.
