Dr. Pierce

We drove through Waterville, WA on our recent excursion. A small, historic town in Washington farm country, two barns had signs touting Dr. Pierce remedies. Unlike a typical ghost sign, this one looked current and maintained.

  1. It is very interesting that there is a very modern sign for a quack doctor and remedies. Humor perhaps?

  2. I’d say these “ghost” signs have been restored to something of their original grandeur. Not sure why but they do attract attention. I thought Dr. Pierce might have been the Dr. Pierce of MASH. 🙂

  3. I have those exact same photos – taken about 5 years ago when we vacationed in Eastern Washington. I love that area – and the barns are perfect for photos. I’m glad they are still in good shape. Super photos.

Where were you going? We had thought about another trip to Eastern Washington on our vacation in July – but have decided to go up to Aggisiz, British Columbia – already have our cabin reserved – and friend to visit in the area. A bit closer to home than E. WA – I do love vacations.

  4. I have been going back and forth about how I feel about painting these so freshly. Still can’t decide.
