Here, there be dragons

Baby bearded dragon

Petco is selling baby bearded dragons. I’m not a great lover of reptiles but I thought they looked cute.

According to Petco, they’re named for skin under their neck which will turn black in defense. They are extremely intelligent with a docile temperament and are said to thrive on human interaction. The adult size of these beasties is 18-24″ and they grow to that size from a diet of crickets, worms, vegetables, and fruit. They have a life span of three to 10 years.

I think for now I’ll stick to furry animals that eat stuff like kibble.

  1. Interesting creatures but I think I’ll’ agree with you Kay and no dragons for me. :))
PS: The only reason we have Canadian Thanksgiving so early in the season is so that we get first pick at the turkeys.

  2. I think that I share your fascination with these attractive dragons and your preference for the fuzzy kind instead as pets.

  3. So what happens, I wonder, when people let these loose in the “wild.” I guess the cats in the neighborhood would “get” ’em… Crazy. I share fondness for the fuzzy or furry kind as the other commentators.
