The campground at the Dungeness Rec Area closes down at the end of the month. This is one of my favorite sites in it. It used to be on a first-come basis, but now they take reservations for loop 2. I hope they don’t make it an all reservation campground and keep it the way it is.
The rest of the park remains open year round.

Is the end of September a normal closing time for campgrounds in the area?
Most of them in the midwest are open until sometime in November.
that’s a pretty campsite – lots of greenery and privacy.
