Tamales

steaming-the-tamales.jpgThe oldest grandson here and his friend wanted to make tamales New Year’s eve.  Here is a photo of what they looked like cooking in the pot.  There were not a lot left after they got through sampling, but we did have a few left over to share with friends. Postscript:  The tamales are wrapped in banana leaves.

  1. Norma, I’ve never made tamales, but eat some pretty “divine” samples in Mazatlan. The colours seem so unusual, but what do I know? What kind did you make and what gives them such an unusual colour?
