Victoria NOW!

Victoria, BC, via the Coho Ferry

It’s simply fabulous that by living here in Sequim, we have access to another world that is a mere 15 miles away, namely, Vancouver Island.

And as I’ve said before, often, there’s no other city I’d rather visit than Victoria especially via the Coho Ferry, and I know many of you feel the same.

Visiting Victoria is like a quick and inexpensive trip to Europe, and doable in the span of 8 hours, if one returns on the same day. The trip itself is noteworthy in that one may see whales, orcas/dolphins, sea lions, and a variety of seabirds along the way.

Once on island and outside the city are Butchart Gardens, Victoria Butterfly Gardens, mountains, gorgeous coastlines, quaint seaports, and unforgettable scenery.

But today I heard that the Black Ball/Coho Ferry is experiencing difficulties due to decreased ridership by Canadians, and U.S. citizens as well. Like many others, I find this to be very disturbing and I employ you to not only spread the word, but to help this company, and our local support businesses, to continue to thrive by booking your travel to the Island, NOW!

The summer months will be tough if riderships falls even more and our chances of having this means of transportation available to us may soon be gone forever.
