Ok photographically this is pretty soft…but this bear family was WAY up in the cliffs about 300yds from shore. It was the only cubs we saw at Lake Skilak in AK.
I took this off of protection island a few months ago. We could only find 3 puffins. This used to be one of the largest colonies on the west coast. I talked with a marine biologist who said it was predation by eagles that have changed this area. Too many chicks picked off so they don’t return. So sad…they are really cool birds.
The beaches on the northern half of Washington coast are stunningly beautiful.
Ruby beach has a little inlet that is pretty safe for lil ones to play in.
