Up in Homer Alaska there was a spit COVERED in harbor seals. They were pretty leery of us and as we got closer they started fleeing to the water. They were PLUMP lil things with giant round black eyes.
So the day before was FOG. This morning beautiful sun was poking thru the clouds and fog to momentarily give this view of John Wayne Marina. I keep my camera on the window sill because things change in seconds. Now you see it, now you dont…
I had just watched the horror movie THE FOG on Halloween when the next day a thick fog came into Sequim bay. But if lightly lifted just around the marina to give me this shot for just a few seconds.
This gorgeous Barred owl hung out at my friends house for a good 40 minutes.
The Galapagos Seal Lion pup was soooo curious about us humans snorkeling. He just wanted to play. When they play with each other, they blow bubbles at each other. This one was darting around so fast all my other shots were just of tail. But on this pass he came STRAIGHT AT ME, knocked my mask off and blew bubble in my face! I only got the shot as a mostly defensive maneuver putting my camera in front and remembering to still shoot!
It didn’t snow in the Olympics until very late October this year. I always look forward to seeing the mountaintops change each year.
