An introduction to Sequim, WA and the beautiful Olympic Peninsula

The New Dungeness Lighthouse is one of the oldest lighthouses in the northwest.

We have company right now and we were driving them around last night showing them Sequim and this was our second stop and I took this picture (down at Dungeness Spit Rec Area)…and then my camera ( Sony Cybershot ) broke.  The shutter button popped off.  My husband and I both have the same camera and the exact thing happened to him on his camera so I’m thinking it’s a defect with the Sony Cybershot camera series.  I’ll use his until he fixes mine.  Driving around the rest of the tour and seeing photo ops and having no camera was hard for me!  We saw two herons together in a pretty setting and my auto response was to reach for my camera and I didn’t have one.  The weather was making some cool cloud patterns and the water was blowing around.  At least I have back up cameras so I’m not without while mine gets fixed.

This is a view from the horse trail at Dungeness Spit Rec Area right now.  This is a nice area to walk almost year round because of all the different views you get with the changing weather.

Picnic area out at Dungeness Spit Rec Area.  This area is enclosed in a little grotto type setting, but there are picnic areas out on the bluff by the water too.

The water was blue and calm out at the Dungeness Rec Area this week during the day.
