My friend’s  first quilt…and she had to pick a king size.  It has fabrics from her grandma’s stash in the old farm house.  We almost got it tied last night…but our fingers gave out.  We will finish Saturday.

I like the ornament right at the top.

This lucky resident of 5th Avenue had three lovely ladies serenade him with “Santa Baby”.  He was a great sport.  The Diaokipan group was threatening to take him on the road with them.

Here we have Rudolph and his, ah her, reindeer.  The teaser shows the “I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus” sketch.  My friend Judy gets the best parts.

I had the distinct pleasure of attending one of Diokipan’s musical performances for the third time in four years at 5th Avenue Assisted Living.  My friend, Judy, is one of the performers.  If you are a member of one of the local groups who get to see them perform, you are in for a treat.  For the story on how they got together, click here or here for pictures of previous performances.  I got some good photos and will be sharing them over the next two days.  The thumbnail is a little teaser.

As we approach the shortest day of the year, a reminder of how much shorter they are in our region…as opposed to say, Dallas, TX.  This photo was taken at 2:40 p.m on December 1st.

PS…If you are local, stop in Karen’s Bernina shop.  Peggy, a fiber artist, will be there today with a trunk show of her work.  Peggy has followed this blog for awhile.  I look forward to meeting her.

All of those beautiful berries should have been picked and gone into jam.  I’m taking comfort in the fact the birds seem to love them.
