When I see this view at the Sequim Bay pullout near the Jamestown S’klallam Tribal Center, I know I am almost home.  A three ferry wait did nothing to diminish the good feeling I received when the Dr.s, and particularly the Physical Therapist, were thrilled with my progress.  Yes, I have new exercises.  I was warned “no spade or posthole diggers” in the garden and to be very careful and not slip and fall….especially when it starts to get wet.  I reminded him I have a wonderful set of neighbors and family that take awfully good care of me…and I wasn’t going to mess with the current sucess.  Thanks for all your good wishes.

It’s a big day today.   The docs in Seattle will be checking out their handiwork on my shoulder and watching me lift a soup can in to the air.  (part of the PT)  I am expecting a “good job” and “here is your next set of exercises”.

A repost from last year.  Today is my last day on main campus for a short summer class.  Now I can get back to Sequim and get some pictures.

What this picture lacks in technical value is completely made up for in the genuine joy of the experience.  My darling daughter and equally precious grandchildren came to help me get my house back in order today. Having slept in, Baby Girl arrived in her princess jammies and assisted me in washing the pottery that would go back on the counters.  I know for a fact that this particular piece has never been so lovely cleaned for as long a period as occurred today.    Pottery cleaning was followed by a visit to the raspberry patch where we picked the last of this year’s crop.  We then ambled on over to the raised beds where we picked peas and new potatoes for a “farmer’s” lunch.  Once we shelled the peas, we found out that pea shells make wonderful boats that will float.    I was sad to see them leave after lunch, but I won’t soon forget the sight and I’ll always have the memory.   The day was capped off by a call from the older grandson confirming he passed all of his tests, and will now enter the local community college in the fall.  Some days it just doesn’t get any better.

Iris will be 90 years old this weekend (She doesn’t look a day over 70) and will have a family celebration.  She and her daughter, Rita, have been coming to my house for a quilting retreat for almost 9 years.   With her in this picture is a niece from Texas, her daughter, and a granddaughter-in-law.  They just spent 6 days in my home, quilting, scrapbooking, shopping, visiting, and just having a great time.  So what do their projects look like?  The thumbnail shows just some of their projects from the week.

What is it?  Well, it rained yesterday and there are those that sprinkle “Moss Out” on their roofs once a year to deter moss.   Hence the bubbles.    I’ve also included a thumbnail of raindrops on the bird feeder.

My neighbors, Larry and Janet, hosted our annual neighborhood block party last night.  This was the only photo I took before I was overcome with good food, excellent vino, and belly laughs from our Cranium game.  I laughed so hard I almost cried.  If you haven’t played the game, you really should give it a try.  And getting together with your neighbors…priceless.

Sorry I missed yesterday.  Life got in the way.
