It was a busy time at the Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club today. In anticipation of the show that starts this Friday, ladies were bringing items for the country store and doing last minute touch ups to quilts that are being hung in the quilt show. Here we have Janet sewing her label on a quilt, while another friend is working on the sleeve to hang the quilt. If you are local, I do hope you will add the show to your activites this weekend. It’s always a wonderful event.
I’m sitting in Denver, waiting for a plane. We had a delightful reunion and I loved every minute of being with family….yet, I can not wait to get back to this valley.
Now when was the last time you had lavender ice cream? Stop downtown at the Purple Haze shop, and you can have some before the festival. The thumbnails show some of their fields in bloom. I didn’t get a chance to visit the farm this time, but previous posts are here and here.
As a side note, the retail shop downtown was my very first post.
Today there will be hugs and kisses…promises we will talk soon and then packing up and going on our separate ways. I’ll be heading back to Denver.
Sunshine Lavender Farm is located on 101 about 11 miles east of Sequim. It’s a relatively new farm and one of Pat’s, a frequent visitor to SWDP, favorites. You can get there by driving or by taking Farm Bus tour C. My photo was taken from across the highway and not at the best time of day. But I’ve posted before. (click on links here and here)
Today I am in Red River with family and will be visiting with brother Denton, who is also a DCPB member.
