Aren’t these cool?  They are located in a part of Carrie Blake that has a slope.  My friend was giving me ideas on how they thought the steps were made.  My mind is racing overtime…when the arm is healed next year, maybe.  I didn’t place the leaf…it was really there.

Continued from yesterday….in the hospital my mind is wandering on how I am going to get out of that plane when I get back home.  I call my son-in-law and make him promise to be there when the plane comes in…otherwise, I’m not getting off.  When it came time to actually fly back, Kenmore put us on a much smaller plane…ladder was half the height.  Still, once we arrived, I took the pilots hand with my left hand and Mario grabbed the back of the pants to keep me semi steady coming down the ladder.   I didn’t want anyone touching the right arm.  Float planes…  Definately something I’ve marked off my bucket list.

This is a pre surgery photo.  It is not eactly Sequim…a bit east of here.  I took it while I was waiting.

While the Hood Canal Bridge was out, one of the ways we could get off of the Peninsula was Kenmore Air.  They had a float plane that flew in to Port Hadlock Marina and Port Ludlow.  I needed to get to Seattle for my pre op on the 22nd, so I hitched a ride with the son-in-law to the marina.  Having never ridden a float plane before, my eyes were big as saucers when I saw the turbine Otter land.  The ladder to the plane  was skinny with no hand rail.  Old one arm, aka me, was not sure how I was going to get up.  I did and made it to Seattle.  Getting out of the plane was a hoot.  Fortunately none of those people will ever see me again.

Weren’t they marvelous?  I am so very thankful that Shannon filled in for me…and so very proud of her photos.  I have a feeling you may get to see more in the future.

Shannon and Eli are two very remarkable people.   They are caring, compassionate, and fun to be around.   They care about the earth, the community they live in, and the people around them.  They are readers and  animal and nature lovers.  They also “walk their talk”.    If the world were filled with Shannons and Elis, it would be a marvelous place.

This iris was one of about 20 practice photos in the backyard.  I am still dependent on others to drive me, but oh my,  am I feeling better.  In the next couple of days I’ll fill you in on the fun of having a new shoulder…and my camera back!  It was left at a friends in Seattle.  I almost felt naked.     Happy flag day and happy birthday to my niece, Jenny.

Saw some more eagles while I was out driving.  I watched them for quite a while, something very peaceful about watching them.

Norma will be back tomorrow!  Thanks to those who left me comments while I was filling in, I appreciated them.

Watching these guys on the water is something else.  I can’t believe some of the jumps they do.

We were down at the water when I saw this dog in the back of a truck.  His eyes were expressive and he just kept watching me.  Sun was out and he was getting to go for a ride, what more could a dog ask for.

Norma is doing well and if all goes according to plan she’ll be back taking photos for her site on Sunday!

Saw this sign in front of Heritage Homes on the way into Sequim today and it made me chuckle.
