The retail store is open!  It makes a nice place to go for coffee and a pastry with your friends, especially with their big open deck.  What a great way to enjoy the morning.  I do have to caution you on making sure you park on the street or in the back.  The parking lot across the street is reserved for the three businesses located there.

I must confess I was so excited about finally getting to drive, I neglected to wish my sister Leonda happy birthday yesterday.  I surely hope it was a good one.

Some of you may remember the saga of the garden house from the last two years.  Well, this weekend the door got it’s first coat of paint.  I love it…maybe it is the blue tape that hasn’t come off yet.  I was going for a terracota red.  It might be a little too orange, but we will see after the guys have the second coat on.

This will be the last of my neighborhood for awhile…today is the day!  I am finally back behind the wheel…carefully.  I’m excited and plan to go looking for some other Sequim photos.

Despite 29 days without rain, my pots are looking good (I have drip irrigation).   They were all pre potted long before surgery.  There is nothing quite like the flower.

Happy Father’s Day to all those dads out there.  I hope it is a special day spent with family.

Our subdivision was laid out in the late 60′s.  This necessitates occasionally having a surveyor come in and lay out exactly where the property lines are located.  This company was in the neighborhood this week.  One of our neighbors is building a new garage.  He needs to know exactly where the setbacks will be.

A collegue said today, “we may not have much money, but we are rich in friends.”  I am a wealthy woman by that criteria.  Two of my friends made this “get well” ball for me from a second hand shop bowling ball.  Broken plates were glued on.  Glass trim added, followed by grout and sealer.  Yes, the ball has to go inside during the winter, but what fun.  Eli took and old stump, shaped it up, and buried it in the ground.  I have plans for more plant textures in front..and voila!

My photos ops were limited to the Masonic Lodge Wednesday.  The Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club meets there every Wednesday and yesterday they had a leaf printing/fabric painting class.  One of my quilting buddies came to get me.  I was limited to watching, but it surely was interesting.  Something fun to add to my list of “when the shoulder is healed”.  The ladies had a lot of fun, got paint all over their hands, and came up with some great pieces….and some of the leaves were from my yard.

Thanks for all the comments on the spectic system yesterday.  It was baker’s yeast he suggested.  He didn’t tell me to do it every month…and the last time, I didn’t do it at all.  Perhaps I should admit that.

I had plans to ask one of the neighbors to take me for a ride so I could get some photos for the rest of the week…and then I checked my calendar.  It was time for the 6 year checkup of my septic system.  Perfect photo op.  Be sure and check the thumbnail….a little poker humor.

I always ask questions and learned that I should space my laundry loads out…an hour and a half between loads.  He also suggested throwing a couple of packages of yeast in to the system.    If you are local, I can certainly recommend this gentleman.  He does a great job, is fairly priced, and takes care of his customers.  I strongly suspect he will still be in business in 2015 when I have it done again.
