This is what the mountains currently look like.  My husband and I were out driving and even after almost 5 years here, it still feels like we are on a mini-vacation when we go for a drive here because we live in an area that we’d love to vacation to if we didn’t already live here.  The scenery is just surreal.

Saw these beauties out on a drive today.

Norma update: Norma’s surgery is on the 26th.  She left yesterday to get to the area for pre op and then to enjoy a weekend with friends and family before surgery.  They are supposed to call me and let me know how she is doing after the surgery and I will update on here to let people know.  We will definitely be thinking of her and sending good thoughts her way.

Common sight on the back roads.  Sometimes I like to pull over and watch them and once in a while let out a mooooooooo.

Looking toward the south from the street just behind Safeway, you can see there is still snow in the mountains.  I hope that means we will have a summer without water rationing.

Today is my last day to post for awhile.  Shannon, my awesome neighbor, will be taking over my duties until I have a week or two to recover.  I’m planning on spending a good part of that time stopping by and catching up on photos I’ve missed.  I always seem to be running behind.  Take care.

Dad’s tree is in bloom…the lavender is looking pretty good too.  No buds yet, but soon.

I’m constantly finding new uses for my camera.   Because the Hood Canal Bridge is out and Monday is Memorial Day, I am having to leave for Seattle on Friday for my pre op.  It is simpler, and more fun…to just stay in Seattle until surgery on Tuesday morning.  Some quilting buddies are coming in for a mini retreat while I’m gone.  My plants are used to getting a drink on Sunday’s.  Because I missed a plant when watering for a friend last winter…and felt terrible when the plant croaked, I decided to take photos of my plants, insert them in a word doc with a note on location and the amount of water each prefers.  I come home to happy plants and my friends know where to look and how much.  The thumbnails show four of the others.
