The checkout counter looks a lot different…and check out that red wall!  There is another alternative method for checking out books.  (see the thumbnail)  I know it works but the express machine never smiles at me like this lovely lady does.  Although I have more, this will be the last of the library photos.  Tomorrow come and check out how “shadows” are interpreted around the world.

Of all the photos I took at the library, this is my favorite.  It reminds me of the visits Baby Girl and took to the library.  There is nothing quite like sharing a favorite children’s story with someone special.

Speaking of Baby Girl, this last week she fell and broke her right arm.  I know this is one of the requirements of being a child, but it was really hard…on her mother, her father, grandmother…and even her older brother.   She was very brave,  The good news is the arm was set, cast, and she is practicing “walking”, as opposed to her normal run, skip, and jump,  and wearing a sling.    The thumbnail captures the inevitable wait to see the doctor in the emergency room.

friends-of-lib.jpg Friends of Sequim Library host a book sale twice a month.  In the updated library you will find a great little book nook where you can purchase paperback for very little money.  It helps the library…and you get some great reads.  The thumbnail shows a very nice pot donated by one of your premier nurseries, McCombs.  Locals know their helpfulness, expertise, and wonderful selection.

I stopped in for the Grand Reopening of the Sequim Library on Saturday.  It’s beautiful from the entrance to the newest book nooks.  I had a grand time exploring and taking pictures.  Over the next couple of days, I’ll be sharing more of my photos.

For the paddle enthusiasts, there are a lot of good opportunities for fun in the Sequim area.  This is a picture my husband took from his kayak (the yellow one) in Dungeness Bay looking toward Cline Spit as they set out to paddle.

Well, not really.  The blossom just looks that way now.  It’s a plant that likes semi shade, grows from a bulb, and is suppose to help deter moles.   I bought the bulbs last fall and neglected to get them in the ground.  I found them in Febuary and  to my surprise they managed to come up this spring.  I’m anxious for them to bloom.  In the meantime, I look for the name in one of my books.

Parade season is upon the Olympic Peninsula.  I spotted the Sequim Wolves practicing in the parking lot.  They looked pretty good…and will look even better when marching in the irrigation parade.  Check back in a couple of weeks for another view.
