There must be a better term, but that is what the lavender plants at Angel Farm looked like as I drove by.  Click on the link for the same site with a little less snow.

Opps!

I was so sure it was too warm…and look what I woke up to!  It surprised me when I received a call this morning at 5 a.m. from the school district letting me know school was closed…and then I looked out.  The weatherman, who usually warns us for days in advance, missed this one.  All I had heard was a dusting in the lowlands.    Thanks to Dennis and Patrica for updates on their areas (yesterday’s post).  And a special thanks to a wonderful neighbor, who once again, plowed the snow away from my mailbox.  One more reason I love my neighborhood… neighbors who care about each other.

Rain, rain

…I want to say, “go away”, but we do need to fill our reservoirs.  Otherwise, it could be a long dry summer.  This was taken sitting at the stoplight on Washington and 7th about noon Wednesday.  The thumbnail was taken  about 3:30 the same day in my backyard…and that’s snow.  It was too warm to stick.

I’ll be haunting the local thrift stores untill I find a pair of rain boots this cute for my garden.  This didn’t come from Sequim.  My apologies.

How Fun!

As I was heading home from work today, I noticed this lady having fun next to the WalMart roundabout.  I found a place to pull off so I could take her picture.  She not only was practicing with her baton as she rocked out to the music on her  headphones, she had a great attitude!  She said it was a great job.   It must be good food.  I spotted several of the state patrol cars having lunch there.

On the way home, I stopped to stretch my legs at Wildbirds, located maybe 15 miles east of Sequim.  I took this picture of a bird in the bare trees.  It was only when I got home I noticed the buds on the tree.  Could it be?  Soon?  I am so ready.  The thumbnail shows his/her backside.  Any ideas on the type of bird?

This is a great use of small pieces of  driftwood and is located outside Olympic Restaurant Supply (the last three days of posts).  I think it is pretty cool.   The birds ought to love it too!

I will be taking a break from posting until Monday.  I’m off to see the Docs in Seattle today.   It’s check up time for the arm and I am not expecting great news.  One of the nerve grafts just doesn’t seem to have taken….but I have a new plan.  We will see what they think about it. Then it is the Garden Show and visiting family.   Have a great weekend!
