Monday as I drove home, there was more activity at the new Olympic Restaurant Supply company.  It looked to me as though Rainbow Sweepers were working on the parking lot, and Dungeness Valley Landscaping was adding plants and bark dust.    Remember the Mervyn commercial?  “Open, open, open!”

sign.jpg Previously I’ve shown pictures of the progress on the new building for Olympic Restaurant Equipment on the corner of Dryke and 101.  As I drove by Sunday, I noticed the sign was up.  That doesn’t mean it wasn’t there before…I just noticed it Sunday.   it is truly a lovely building.  Not that I need any restaurant equipment, but I am looking forward to their opening and taking a look inside.

The snow is basically  gone…but my big boy came back today from California and I couldn’t be happier.  (This photo is from before they went)  Here he is with Snowy, his best bud.  I enjoyed the pup while they were gone, but I have to admit…I am more of a cat person.

Tamales

steaming-the-tamales.jpgThe oldest grandson here and his friend wanted to make tamales New Year’s eve.  Here is a photo of what they looked like cooking in the pot.  There were not a lot left after they got through sampling, but we did have a few left over to share with friends. Postscript:  The tamales are wrapped in banana leaves.

I had a lot of pictures I liked this year, but none that I was in love with.  So I choose this one in honor of my sister, who loves flowers.  Click here to view thumbnails for all participants
