On Washington Street in downtown Sequim is a wonderful venue for local artists, the Blue Whole Gallery.
I shot this photo on an evening stroll.  Cynthia Thomas is one of  two featured artists this month. artist.jpg

In a post last August, I moaned and groaned about the recommendation of local garden guru, Andrew May, when he suggested it was time to fertilize,   cut back, plunder, pinch back new growth, and add soil to our hanging baskets.  My baskets were beautiful.  But he was right.  These photos were taken this weekend.  I’ve never had baskets that have lasted so long in to November.  They will come down soon.  Frost is around the corner, but it has been lovely.  Thank you, Andrew.

We were treated to an afternoon of great old time music at the Sequim Prairie Grange.  The grange is host to a multitude of activities.  Why this morning you can go and have a pancake breakfast.  It’s a wonderful place to meet friends and have a good time.  harmonica.jpg bullfrogs.jpg  grange.jpg

This is what the table can look like when quilters are on a mission.   (I had guests this weekend).  Blueberry decided to enjoy their company.  Can you find her?

The kids and I went to a fund raiser this evening for “The Women of the Corn”,  a sewing cooperative in Chiapas, Mexico, supported by a group here in Sequim.  (See article)  The food was good and I was the happy high bidder on two photographs. One, a limited framed edition by documentary photographer, Annie P. Warren, depicts Cristina, a market vendor in San Cristobal de las Casas.  I’ll always be a supporter of those who make education for others possible.

In Sequim, we have a wonderful organization, Friends of the Fields.    Today is theme day in the City Daily Photo community.  I am not participating this time, but to see how the theme, Books, was interpreted, visit this link.
