taste.jpg Were you early enough to acquire the pink, the purple, or the red tree this morning?  I was so struck by the sight of the purple tree…I went out to my car and came back with my camera.  Although not my taste, I was told the “black” one had already sold.

It takes a lot of lights to decorate.  See yesterday’s post.   Happy Thanksgiving!bags-of-lights.jpg

I happened to catch this photo of the city crew stringing lights in the BOA pocket park on main and Sequim Dungeness. This morning I received the following message “Just wanted to correct who put up the lights. The City of Sequim does not hang the lights nor pay for them. The lights are a project of the Sequim Chamber of Commerce and is funded by the business sponsorship of the flower baskets. The design for the lighting is by Andrew May and the organization and flower baskets by volunteer and former Citizen of the Year, Emily Wescott.”I stand corrected and look forward to stopping by and getting a picture of the finished project.

In truth, I don’t spend a lot of time shopping at Wally World (aka Wal-Mart), but the official greeters, such as these two gentlemen, make it a nice visit.  I was in search of fiberfill to finish some Christmas gifts…and to the best of my knowledge, there were the only place in town with what I needed.

Basket Day

As I left the Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, a noticed a sign that read “Basket Day”.  It lead me to the Sequim Prarie Grange.  Once again it was a happening place.  I found different tables set up with instructors teaching different basket making techniques.  I found several I would have loved to have brought home with me, but I was shopping for others.

It was the start of holiday bazaars on the weekends in Sequim.  I stopped in at Greywolf Elementary School to see what my friend Michelle had for sale.  Her handmade candles are long lasting, come in a variety of scents, and fit in to my “Christmas Shopping Locally” endeavor this year.   Several friends will be gifted with some of these beauties.
