  It looks as though the neighbors have their work cut out for them.  I’d offer to go help, but I think there are still a few leaves left on that tree.  Do be careful out there today.  There are lots of little ghosts and goblins running around.  I want mine to come home safe and sound,

If you have followed my blog, you know I love my small town and everything about it.  This photo, however, illustrates one of those things that just irks me.  I just have my jack-o-lanterns out, and what did I see as I left school today…there on the corner of Spruce and 2nd was a Christmas decorated street lamp.   If I were to inquire about it, I’m sure I would hear…not enough manpower to wait until the middle of November.all the stores already have their decorations up (true enough).it is safer to do it now while the weather is still goodStill, it leaves me just a bit miffed.  I want to see the great pumpkin hanging instead.

Sunnyfarms had their annual nursery sale this weekend.    I had great fun wandering among the plants. I now have a lacy leaf red maple waiting for it’s new home.  The guys will be here next Friday to dig the hole.

Yes?  No?  If you want to know whether that mushroom you find in the Sequim area is edible, you should have been at the Sequim Prarie Grange this last weekend.    The Olympic Peninsula Mycological Society held their annual show.  It was fantastic.  Over the next couple of days, I will be posting pictures from the show.  I learned a great deal, and perhaps most important “To be edible, mushrooms must be identified with certainty.  there aren’t any general rules.  There aren’t any shortcuts.  The name of the mushroom must be known.”  Dick Sieger

Have a bar-b-que!  Good friends had the neighbors, family and friends over for a bar-b-que.  It was great fun and the food was excellent.
