jdog2.jpg Today I celebrate 60 years with good friends, family, food, and music.  It doesn’t get much better than that.  I choose JDog’s picture for today.  Doesn’t she look happy, sticking her head out the window, letting her ears flop in the breeze?    My neighbor took her picture by shooting into the side mirror on her car.

With the crazy weather we have been having, these may never get ripe.  I’ll be back in Sequim this evening.

I’ve know idea how it works, but this is the machine that starts the process for distilling lavender into oil.  Click on this link and read how they do it.   Still at the beach.

When we visited Jardin du Solei last week, I spotted this sign on the back of one of the buildings.  It’s a bit hard to read, but the subtitle reads “Gold Medal Dairy Seattle”.  I don’t know the history of the sign or the dairy.  However, when I Goggled the dairy, I found this link.If I told you I was banished to the beach for micro managing the up coming party, it would only be a half truth.  The beach trip has been planned for at least 6 months.  5 of us are are our way for a quilting retreat to Pacific Beach.  I will be coming back one day early to go to Seattle to pick up one of my baby brothers who is flying in for the party.

These roses are from the rose garden at Wildbirds.   Today, Denton and I have a sister, Leonda, and a brother in law, Claude,  who will celebrate 40 years of marriage.  I wish with all my heart I could be there.  I’m sending these beautiful roses their way with all my good wishes.  And a special thanks to my nieces who helped make this celebration possible.

One of the wonderful things about having out of town guests is you get to visit so many of the things you seen before, but don’t always go back to on a regular basis.  This lovely sunflower caught my eye when we stopped at Jardin du Soleil.  They were about the close the shop, but were gracious and let us come in and look after we browsed the grounds.  Just lovely!  8 more days till the party!
