Olympic National Park Rangers had an exhibit at the Dungeness River Festival.  This ranger is holding the pelt of a fisher.     Once a native to the state of Washington, the fisher disappeared in the late 1880’s, early 1900’s due to over trapping.  The fisher was reintroduced in the Olympic National Park early this year.

Take one pinecone and coat with peanut butter.  Roll in bird seed.  There were lots of activities for families to do at the Dungeness River Festival.

It’s a French dish.  To my ears, it sounds like “ricklet.  Our hostess grilled vegetables and a spicy sausage.  We ate it with boiled potatoes, crusty bread, and these tiny little pickles.   It was all topped with a melted cheese.  Outstanding!Postscript:  My hostess sent an email.  It’s spelled raclette and it is actually a Swiss dish.  They just happened to be in France when were introduced to the dish.   Must be my old ears.

I went to get a potato for dinner, and came back with a few more items.  The little pumpkins were volunteer out of my compost pile.  they went home with the grandkids.  I also sent the little squash with Baby Girl.  They grew together and she wanted to take them to school for show and tell.
