On the fourth Wednesday of each month, the Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club spends most of the day working on Community Quilts. These quilts are given to fire victims, every family member of a new Habitat for Humanity home, Serenity House, etc., etc. They are just what they are called, quilts for our community.

It’s a familiar site all over this part of the world. School starts next week and football season is right around the corner. The Sequim Wolves have their first game this Friday in Chimacum.
The grandkids now have a dog named Snowy. I adopted Blueberry from Safe Haven last January. I couldn’t resist some nose to nose photos. Blueberry allowed Snowy to come close, but when he tried to rest his nose on her paw, she was having none of that and the claws came out. Poor pup just wanted to be friends.
It’s been fun to work on the yard this summer. One day I got a wild idea and ask the gentlemen who help me with the yard to take the ivy out. That uncovered an unsightly stump. The older grandson gave it his best shot at hacking away, bit by bit. Not one to admit to defeat, even he finally said “I give up”. Enter Brett’s stump grinding. It wasn’t long before the job was all done. (see thumbnail) I also had him take two others out while he was here. What goes in it’s place will probably not be installed until next year. Notice all the rocks in the thumbnail? Some of those were from when I first moved in. I’m on an old river bank and when things grow, I’m appreciative.
