railroad-bridge3.jpg Railroad Bridge Park from the air…the bridge crosses the Dungeness River, and is part of the Olympic Discovery Trail.  The first thumbnail gives a better view of the river as it enters the park.  The second two thumbnails are shots of the Sequim Valley Airport.    Looks a little bit different from up there.

Things look so different from the air.  This is the a picture of the lake in our small subdivision.    In the lower right hand corner is the beginning of the west side of Robin Hill Park Farm.  (click on the words to see four previous posts) The thumbnail shows the garden house from the air, and my “soon to be painted another color” green and white home.   It amused my grandson that you could see the different colors of paint that we have been auditioning on the garden house.  As of this moment,  the second color from the left is in the lead.

Yesterday morning my friend Michele and her husband Dr. D took me flying…and it was fantastic!  I hadn’t been in a small plane like this one since the late 70′s.  We flew out of Fairchild International Airport in Port Angeles to a small field in Port Townsend.  One of the thumbnails shows the Lavender Festival Street Fair early in the morning.  Look for more later this week…including me looking very happy!

At our quilt show, we have a “quilt turning” where heritage quilts are shown and described to an appreciative audience.  As the proud caretaker of this “Sunshine and Shadows” variation on a Mariner’s Compass, it was a delight to see Great Grandma Blakely’s quilt displayed.   Notice the white gloves the ladies are wearing?  This is done to protect the fabrics of the older quilts from the natural oils in our skin.

These Sunbonnet Sue dolls were patiently waiting in the hall and will be used to help decorate this years quilt show.  Our featured artist is Nancy Davis,  a long time club member whose work is greatly admired. On Fir Street the venders were setting up tents and at Angel Farms, one of the eight farms on tour, the fields look lovely. I apologize for the late post yesterday.  I discovered I had the wrong time stamp when I finally got on the computer last night.   So today, for some of you…two for the price of one visit.

Yes, it is Lavender Festival time.    It is also time for the Sunbonnet Sue Quilt show.    Today I turn in three quilted items.  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I work the show.  Friday night I hope to attend Jazz in the Alley, and then on Saturday go to see Into the Woods, PALOA annual light opera.   I’m thinking that I may have to stay home on Monday and rest my toes.  It’s a great festival…if you visit the festival website,  you can find links to many, many things to do this weekend.

There are still a few left at Graymarsh, but they are coming to the end of their season.  Raspberries are coming on soon.  I love the old truck.  I think it might have been a milkman’s van.
