Flying with my friends

Yesterday morning my friend Michele and her husband Dr. D took me flying…and it was fantastic! I hadn’t been in a small plane like this one since the late 70′s. We flew out of Fairchild International Airport in Port Angeles to a small field in Port Townsend. One of the thumbnails shows the Lavender Festival Street Fair early in the morning. Look for more later this week…including me looking very happy!

I would be happy too if I was going flying. Its a tiny plane but must have been exciting to experience.

As a “I used to fly” pilot, I always insist on a visit to the cafe at the airport when I visit Port Townsend. What a neat place to have a good lunch and watch the action, or admire the toy airplanes hanging from the ceiling.

Looks like fun. Nice short hop over familiar ground. What could be better? And what a great way to avoid the crowds at the lavender festival
