In case you haven’t heard,  I’m trying to find just the right color to paint my house.  Of the five choices painted on the garden house, I just kept thinking they weren’t quite right.  When I got back in my car the other day, this little sports car just happened to drive by.   I grabbed the camera to show the grandson…this is more what I had in mind.  He showed up with a new color this evening.    In fairness to the sports car owner, I’ve colored out his license plate number.  We will see what it looks like in the light of day tomorrow.

At first I thought it was a kayak.  Then I read the fine print.  Looks like a lot of fun.  I have no idea where they were headed to put it in the water, but they stopped at Sunny Farms first to stock up on goodies.

It seems late to me this year.  Perhaps it is this unseasonable cool weather we have been having.  The forecast is for showers tomorrow.  I’d like for it to hold off for about a week so I can get my bundles in, hung, and the fans going.

dognotsheep.jpgI had an opportunity to drop by the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club dog show last weekend.  The show was held on the Blake family property, next to Carrie Blake Park.  The dog pictured above was so unusual.  I wish I had caught the name.  Do any visitors know the name?  In the thumbnails, you have a close up of the dog running for the judge, two of the line up for the last “look see”, and an adorable photo of a unique way to keep a dog’s hair out of it’s eyes.

farmland.jpg In the foreground of the picture you can see the beginning of Sequim.  Above that is some of the best farmland left around.  I hope it stays that way.  In the strait, you can see ships headed for…Seattle?  The first thumbnail shows Bell Hill, once favored for it’s beautiful views.  There are some wonderful home there.  I was surprised how “bald” it looked from the air.     The second thumbnail shows the airplane ahead of us starting to land.  I had a great time on this trip and I am extremely grateful to my hosts for sharing this wonderful view of where we live.  Picking up where I left off on Thursday, as we left John Wayne Marina and flew over Discovery Bay, I noticed this orange color in the water.  My hosts told me they had heard about an algae bloom on T.V.  I missed the story, but the sight of it was very strange.  We then landed at the Port Townsend Airport and had breakfast at the Spruce Goose Cafe.  The food was excellent and the folks were friendly.    Tomorrow will be my last “in the air”.  Time to come back to earth.

I’m interrupting my Sequim, from the air, series to bring you our annual “In the lavender” photo.  We took almost 40 photos before we came up with one that turned out pretty good of all three of us.   My baby girl is four, my big boy is nine, and let’s just say it will be a monumental birthday in September.   For some reason I have had several inquires on my update on the Lavenderlady page in the last few days.  I’ve added the latest doctor’s report for those interested.  I appreciate the good wishes and concern.
