iris.jpgI’ve looked at beautiful iris on other blogs for a good month now.  Finally mine are starting to bloom.

looks-like-work.jpg It’s that time of year…time to spruce up, clean up, etc.

paintjob.jpg If you are driving north on Fifth Avenue, be sure and admire the new paint job on the Sequim Community Church.  They did a nice job and I love the color.  Looks like they are getting a new roof too….and for my sister, please note you said you didn’t care if my pictures were crooked.    roofers.jpg

irrigation.jpgWith all of the unseasonably wet and cold weather we have had as of late, it surprised me to see this farmer sprinkling his crop.   I’ve posted a picture of this barn before in a different season.

concert.jpgMy big boy is in third grade and last night was his first recorder concert.  As Grandma, I was sitting right there in the front row.  He did a magnificent job…as did all of his classmates.  My compliments to the music teacher.  The performance was excellent and the students really seemed to enjoy performing.  (We have great schools and excellent teachers in Sequim.)  concert2.jpg  music-teacher.jpg  recorder.jpg

restaurant.jpg Just down the road is new construction.  The local restaurant supply house has decided to move out of Sequim proper and relocated almost halfway between Sequim and Port Angeles.  I was amazed that once they started framing, the walls went up in a hurry. restaurantsound.jpg  P.S.  Notice that sky.  While the rest of the country is experiencing it’s share of weird weather…we are right there too.  Summer has not arrived here.  I wore a sweatshirt most of the weekend.

sage.jpg I have a lot of purple plants in my backyard.  Trouble is, I don’t always remember what I planted.  The leaves smell like sage, it matches a description of one of the sages in my Western gardening book, but I’m willing to be proved wrong.
