The summer Tuesday night music sessions at the James Center for Performing Arts next to Carrie Blake Park were kicked with off last night with the addition of a movie. Despite the windy and chilly air, there was a good crowd for the music of Deadwood Revival, a local favorite. Only the hearty of soul and good grandmas (like me) stuck it out to see Daddy Day Camp, with Cuba Gooding, Jr. I wouldn’t miss an evening with my grandkids no matter how cold it was. Next week you can listen to the music of Locust Street Taxi, billed as Horn Driven Eclectic Rock. The next movie, Surfs Up, is July 29th. A complete schedule of the music and movies can be found on the city’s website. Grandma, who can almost say she has never heard any music she didn’t like, will probably make all of them. The grandkids may wait till the next movie.
