I’ve noticed this birdhouse as I drive out of my subdivision, but confess I never really looked at the stump it is attached to until I took this picture. Notice the face carved in the stump? I didn’t at first.
I fly home from Mexico City today.

I made a failed attempt to photograph the new glass ball in my collection…I was going to email a thank you to the giver. Then I discovered there was something unusual about this photograph. If you can identify what if the unusal element, I will send you a postcard from Sequim. (I’m piggy backing on all the other sites that did this.) My brother Tim guessed correctly that it was Christmas lights reflecting in the window.
Today I am packing and saying goodbye to my family. They will return on the 3rd of January.

Texas Valley
I am in Villa Morelos for one more day.

Last Spring a horde of bunnies showed up in my backyard, munching on all the new growth. I borrowed a “Have a Heart” trap. I caught the first one on carrots and apples. After that they thumbed their nose at me. I even borrowed a salmon net and played “Elmer Fudd” to no avail. One day I dumped a bag of slightly over done popcorn on the grass for the birds. I looked out later and there was a bunny among the birds, having lunch. Bingo! I caught 4 more with popped popcorn. Before the animal welfare folks decend on my website, let me share that all of these bunnies were transported to “Bunny Haven”. They are well fed and happily doing what bunnies do. However, I didn’t get them all. There are two more having fun in my backyard. Trap and popcorn are now back in use. One bunny down…two to go.
I just re read last year’s post…If it had only been just two more. I think we are at Canada de Enmedio today…hot springs.

Baby Girl and I take a walk.
This was the best vacation last year. Once again we are together for the holidays.

On our recent “get-a-way”, we stopped at a friends. Her boys had a train set up under the tree. Baby Girl was fascinated with the movement. She would put her finger on the track and then pull it away, just before the train arrived. The shoe is mine. “Keens”…check them out, you won’t be sorry. This is from the old lady with the arthritic foot.
I think we are still recovering from all the food we ate.

This beautiful star is on the top of my darling daughter’s beautiful tree. I will be spending the night Christmas Eve so that I can watch the grandkids open their Santa presents. Catch you later in the day! Merry Christmas!!
I wonder if there will be a star on the tree in Mexico?
