There are lots of the real thing in our area. This big boy can be spotted from Highway 101 as you head west toward the Dungeness River. He stand atop the gate post that is the entrance to the “Lincoln Log” business mentioned in Wednesday’s post.

On the backside of Bell Hill, the clouds were laying low. The picture wasn’t that great, but changing it in iphoto gave it a new look.

tinkertoys.JPG As you drive west out of Sequim, you will see a business on the right where they build log homes on site, then take them apart and deliver them to the new home site. This beauty is the biggest one I have seen them build. From the road, it always reminds me of Lincoln Logs. (Am I dating myself?)

It is still November, but what a difference a weekend can make. These lights decorate the trees in front of US Bank on the corner of Washington and Sequim Dungeness. Can you see the reflection in the window? Downtown is really lit up.

thats all.JPG The grandson knocked off about 3:30 today. It was time to return borrowed tools and get himself ready to go back to work tomorrow. I couldn’t be happier with what all was accomplished. Already I am dreaming of what to plant and thinking about colors to paint. We do have to wait till spring. It is just too cold to paint now. Color me very happy and extremely blessed. I do have a wonderful family.

My daughter, son in law, baby girl and my big boy came to help the older grandson today. It is amazing how quickly the work progresses when you have lots of willing hands. I was more than willing to cook lunch and “go-fer” all day. Tomorrow the roof! BG was easily distracted by the beauty in our backyard and I was more than willing to take her picture.

Tonight every muscles in my very old body aches. Some of you may remember I have been looking at garden houses for over a year. My grandson, Osiel, offered to build it for me if I bought the materials. Another wonderful gift came to me when the insulator collection my parents owned was sold and a portion of the proceeds came my way. Today we dug the holes for the piers (Osiel mostly did the digging…I moved rocks), installed the joists, (I held and marked…he hefted and hammered), and nailed the floor down. (I applied the adhesive…he sawed, hoisted and hammered.) At the end of the day it was too dark to take pictures, but expect more tomorrow. I am very, very happy! Now I will have a place to store my garden materials and be able to reclaim my garage. What a gift! And tonight, I bet I sleep clear through.
