Most days by the time the sun comes up, I’m in my classroom, setting out books, running an agenda, starting the coffee, doing the dreaded “paperwork”, but today was a field trip to the main campus and I stopped by the local Starbucks for some coffee. Look at the show the sky was putting on. It was only after I got home I spotted the bird in the sky.

Whoops! Apparently I was “tagged” and neglected to follow through…O.K…. 8 things you might not know about me.

1. Despite the fact I go to work early, I am not really a morning person. My most productive time is probably in the evening.
2. I had a grandma who lived to be 106. (good genes)
3. I ALWAYS ring when I go through the metal detector at an airport (artificial hips and one knee)
4. My minor in college was history. I still have a passion for the subject.
5. One of my mottos is “have passport, will travel”.
6. I lived in Germany in the early 80′s. Were it not for my late husband saying we had to go home and be sensible, I’d still be there.
7. I love to play games…even ones I am not good at. I think it goes with my wanting to learn something new everyday.
8. I collect and wear antique jewelry. It all started with Grandma’s rhinestone pins.

Now…who to tag? If you have not been tagged…and would like to play…tomorrow is your day! Tell us 8 things about yourself that we might not know.

I stopped at a friend’s home this last week and as I was walking up to the house, I spotted this deer resting on the lawn. He/she waited until I returned with my camera.

I posted this same scene last year. The sky is different…the trees are the same. Which one do you like best?

Almost at the corner of Kitchen-Dick and Old Olympic Highway is a new development called Discovery Trail Farm. It offers eight 1 acre custom home sites, a private, paved taxiway to the Sequim Valley Airport, panoramic views of the Olympic Mountains, and is adjacent to the 150 mile Olympic Discovery Trail. All you need is bring your own airplane. The view is spectacular!

This display at a friend’s home caught my eye! Happy weekend.

Healthy Families sponsored a vigil Thursday to pause and reflect on the loss of 60 victims in the state of Washington who died this year as a result of domestic violence. The Silent Witness Display in the Sequim Park by the Bank of America was made up of life size wooden cutouts with the tragic and senseless story of domestic violence that led to the loss of a life. The Sequim Coalition for Healthy Families assisted with the financial cost of bringing this moving display to the Olympic Peninsula.

If you can believe the Sequim Gazette, every where you turn there is new construction. (An article in today’s newspaper) Maybe you don’t have to read the paper…just look around. I stopped by the new Rite Aide complex. Although Rite Aide is scheduled to open November 1st, I think this annex building is a little farther behind. I noticed a number of businesses working on the new Rite Aide. (thumbnails below)
